Remedial massage is a term given to healing massage, used when there is a condition present usually associated with pain and discomfort for the client. Remedial Massage is designed to reduce and alleviate the pain by assessing the client and determining causative factors. The therapist can then determine a course of treatment as well as educating the client on how to avoid it occurring again.

At Holmwood Massage we use a variety of techniques to assess and treat these conditions including trigger point therapy, heat therapy, aromatherapy, sports stretching, myofascial release and deep tissue work.
By correctly assessing an individual and tailoring a treatment plan the aim is to significantly reduce pain, increase range of motion and facilitate the return to normal activities within 1-6 sessions. It is recommended that these sessions are 1 week apart, however it is important that it fits into your lifestyle and commitments.
All treatments include a full consultation including posture analysis, muscle strength testing, range of motion assessments and a verbal consultation. You are encouraged to ask questions, voice any concerns, share your expectations. We will also discuss possible treatment programs, time managed outcomes and home exercises and stretches.
